5 question friday by way of El Paso !

1. Do you collect anything? Shot glasses and Butterflies.  well not actual butterflies, but butterfly stuff. My house, my class room, my back... where ever you look you will find them.  I want to learn to make a logo or signature or my photography with one in it so i can mark my pics.

2. Name 3 celebrities that you find good looking.
~Channing Tatum: From dear john and step up... in fact i tried to convince Sean to name our son (if we had one Channing)
~Jesse Williams : Dr. Avery from Greys Anatomy... see my previous post about how hot he is.
~Usher Raymond: Something about his swag makes me smile.  I also have a post from seeing him in concert.  if you can look at those pics and not see a hottie, then you're mad

3. Do you have any scars? If so, what's the story behind it (them?)?
*My knee (I had a complete ACL tear, during a steen hall talent show @ SFA )
*A mark between my eyebrows and the tip of my nose (I had a pretty nasty case of the chicken pocks in 7th grade.  I got them the weekend before thanksgiving, and didnt go back to school until after Christmas break)
*My left eyebrow (i had and Evil Kanevil phase as a child.  I truly though i was a dare devil. I would try to ride my bike off of the small cliff behind our apartment, or try to do a back flip off of the swings, which is how i got my scar.  I scratched my cornea when i landed and hit my head/eye on a large rock.  I had to wear a patch for like 6 weeks )

4. What is a food that you like to eat, but others might think it's gross or weird?
i love Calamari and Asperagus

5. Have you ever seen a tornado in real life?
Sorta.  When i was younger i would sit on my grandma's porch with her, and she lived on the top of a hill.  you could always see a storm coming, and a few times, we could see the funnel clouds in the distance.

We're Leaving on a jet plane.... Dont know if southwest will let us ride again!

Honestly she did very well, until her earring got caught on mommy's shirt. But other than that our baby enjoyed the plane ride.  She spent most of the flight looking out of the window, and trying to get to the air vent, so it would blow in her face.  She thought it was hilarious.  When we arrives, we picked up aunt Joi, then went to Grandma Dea's house.  Soon she got to meet Uncle Calvin (who she seemed a little leery of), Uncle Leon, Aunt Karen, Rachel, and Ladessa.  Needless to say it was a lot to take in, and she is now completely pooped out.  Here are a few pics from today...

Before we got on the plane

 during the flight

finally landed...

... and its only the first day.

Much more to come...

5 Question Friday

1. What is one food you could eat everyday? I'm going to so with Grill Talapia, seeing as i ate it ever day for like 4 months.  Seriously. i realy did! And while i was pregnant i ate a mc chicken sandwhich, fries, and
a large Hi-C with no ice was the meal of choice for months 8-9. Everynight sean would piclk one up for me
for my 4th meal.. LMAO. He would come in singing "Baby look what i got!!!"

2. Are you working in the career you thought you would be when you were 18? Yes. I wanted to be a science teacher since about 11th grade. I had some great science teachers at Richardson HS (Coach Deaton and Mrs. Price~although Umoh may disagree with me on that one) and at Westwood Junior High Leadership Magnet.  At WWJH i had this crazy science teacher that so reminded me of Mrs. Frizzle

(for those non teachers. "The Frizz" is the crazy teacher from the Magic School bus)
She wore crazy clothes to match what ever unit we were studying.  She used to live in Australia for a while and always told us stories about her trips.  She had birds that flew freely around our classroom, as well as many other animals (snakes, fish, frogs, rabbits, hamsters, etc).
Between all of these teachers, I began to love science which i never liked before then. I learned how to innoculate and grow my own bacteria From Coach D (I was transefered from Law Magnet to Science Magnet). and Mrs. Price taught me how to be a better role model/leader with my community at school while also teacheing me chemistry.

3. What is something that you wish you would have done when you were younger and you didn't?
i'd say start dance earlier, and take it more seriously.  I took classes here and there but was never very serious until Eaglettes

4. What color are your kitchen walls? Umm... I would say "Sand".  When my husband decided to move here (he was my fiance then) we were all about updating. So i started painting rooms and cabinets.  Honestly i'm ready for a new color.  And after looking at Jackie's new pantry ( at the House of Justice)I think i like red black and white!!!

5. Do you remember what your very first favorite song was? No. but i was in love with

New Edition and ABC so i'm assuming it was one of them. Or possibly Micheal or Janet Jackson.

I had the "Bad" and "Conntrol" Video Cassets with all the music videos ont eh album and would watch them daily and learn the dances.

6 MONTH UPDATE!!!

Miss Langston actually turns 6 months next week, but since we will be in El Paso with Sean's Family we are posting a week early.

She had a doctor visit today so we actually have all her stats for once.
~ she received one shot in each leg (4 immunizations total)
     ~  weighs 12.5lbs (2nd percentile)
     ~ 24.5 in (15th percentile)
     ~ head 14 in
As you may have noticed her percentiles are pretty low, so her doctor has contacted a specialist to see if they want Lani to come in. needless to say my heart broke a little.  i knew she was small but didnt realize how small. I will keep you posted.

Whats New~
  •  hold her large bottles now (but usually doesnt)
  • sit up for a while with out tipping over
  • started on gerber 2nd foods (as she was eating two portions of 1st food each sitting)
  • grabs everything, especially hair
  • cries or screams when you take things away
  • had her 1st 4th of july
  • still teething
  • will take her first plane ride next week
  • constantly babbling and growling
So far thats it but as always i'm sure there is more to come soon!

Lani's First 4th of July & future Gerber Baby

So yesterday was the 4th of July and we had a great holiday. Brian and Toni spent the day with us, and the original plan was to go to the lake with the Williams family. However, we found out they weren't going to have fireworks, so we stayed in Dallas and went to her "Uncle Shawn's" (one of sean's bestfriends) house in addison. After staying there for a while we headed back to G-town so we could see the fireworks since Kaboom town was the night before, only to find out that they were going to have fire works in addison anyways. It then became my mission to find fireworks for lani to see. Mind you its 9;30 and her bed time and she is screaming her head off it the car. So we decide to just go home and the minute we get to our street what do we notice... Lani is sleep, and we can see fire works in the distance. So we drive down towards some empty fields, which are actually filled with random people and cars, and we are able to see 3 different shows. I'm assuming plano, wylie and garland. At first i was super sad that Lani was sleeping through the show, so sean suggested we wake her up. I'm guessing that she loved the fire works by the repeated screams, giggles, and growls we heard! LOL!

Here are a few pics

On to the next topic. Lani's Aunt Arry sent me a link to enter Lani into a contest for the next Gerber baby.  I submitted apic a while back and honestly thought it didnt work, because i never heard anything else. But surprisingly i received an email from the Gerber company on Saturday saying Lani's pic was chosen and that voting for this month was now open.  So we literally messaged everyone we knew and have been voting daily for our baby girl. So if you want to vote for our sweet baby girl please click here. You may vote once per day per email address.  They will choose 6 winners per month for the next 6 months and a grand prize winner from those winners.
