5 question friday (yes i know its saturday)

1. Did you pass your driver's test on the first try?
Nope!!!! I failed the parrallel parking portion....but i did get it my second try.
i still hate parrallel parking today

2. What is your most embarrassing moment?
thats a hard one... im gonna say falling and tearing my acl during the steen hall talent show freshman year
3. What TV show would you like to be on- Oprah, Biggest Loser, or What Not to Wear?
oprah.... on her "favorites" day... give me a free car please

4. Would you ever get plastic surgery and what kind?

heck yeah!!!! once im done having babies im getting the boobs reduced, lifted, and implants. a tummy tuck, and lipo... God gave us surgeons for a reason

5. What are your favorite jeans to wear?
it used to be charlotte russe but they stopped carrying the ones i liked. now it old navy's flirt jeans

ALL THE MAIL PILED UP OVER MY WASHER AND DRYER i mean its literally overflowing.  you would think that we never clean it out, but we have a miillion times.... so annoying 2. THE REST OF THE CRAP IN THE BACK OF MY CARlets just say the collection has grown to a hot mess in my trunk 3. ALL THE UNUSED CRAP IN MY "COAT" CLOSETi say coat with quotes because there isn't a single coat in there. every time u open it there is an avalanche though

baby daddy~ check ( ok we're married but it counts)

lots of money~ ok i have lots of bills (student loans, utilities, day care....etc)  but technically at one point it was my money :(

ok so i'm loving the "theme" days!!! and it gives people a chance to really get to know me!!!

1. Have you ever had a celeb sighting?
actually i have... when i was in highschool, i went to newyork in dance in the macy's day parade with my drill team. while we were shopping we saw Chris Rock. We all started screaming, and he screamed and pointed back at us!!!

2. What temperature do you keep your house?

ok so im super finicky about this one. during the day i keep it at 70, but at night its on 55 (brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr). i know. but i have to be wrapped in a blanket so if its on 70 at night its too hot. plus it messes with my allergies

3. Do you notice dust at other peoples homes?

dust no! dirt yes! didn't you know we were coming??? clean this mess up!!! lol

 

4. What's the worst job you ever had?

i dont think i've ever had a bad job! i worked as a telemarketer for a while in college. the people were always yelling "i dont want no damn dial up!!!! " (i worked there in 2003) lol !!!! but all of my friends worked there too, so it was like i was getting paid to socialize!

 

5. What is your most sentimental possession?
wow! thats a hard one.... i would have to say my daughter... i mean she's not a possession in the fact that i didnt go out and "buy" her. but to think that she grew inside of me for ten months, loves me unconditionally, and can always brighten up my day... how could i live with out her!

#3: Forgetfulness!!!
i would love to blame this one on pregnancy, but seeing as lani is 2 months old now, i'm pretty sure its just me. seriously. i walk into a room and either forget what i was looking or just forgetting that i was even looking for something, and start doing something else. i have complete conversations with my husband and a day or two later would swear that we had "no such conversation"!!!

#2: Telling Secrets:
ok so i cant keep a secret to save my life! i will always end up telling you what i bought you for christmas or your birthday. In fact i've started waiting until a day or two before holidays/birthdays to go shopping so that i have less time to tell...lol

I know! its disgusting, but they just bug me. i see them i have to get rid of them. I feel like a lion staking my prey! I see it out of the corner of my eye. watch them slowly. then just lean over and squeeze..... omg i've managed to gross myself out... He gets so annoyed but i cant help it. its like an addition. i just have to pop it!!!

OK..... so im super excited about todays blog!!!! because it touches two really big events in my lif at the moment.

i mentioned a few posts back how sad i was about going back to work, because i would have to miss a lot of Lani's firsts. Well i think God heard my cry and prayer because as she lay on the blanket my little angel rolled over. Now at first i wasnt sure if it was a fluke or not so i put her on her belly again, and she rolled back over. katrina happened to be over working on bows so it was so nice to have some one there to share in my excitement. (especially since no one in my fam answered the phone). so after watching her roll 4 times, i ran to get my camera to record it.

The second part f my wish is getting to focus on Katrina and my new adventure "Little Miss Sass-A-Frass". We have tarted to make affordable accessories for our kids and yours too. Check out our facebook fan page or our blog (http://littlemisssassafrass.blogspot.com/). We are so excited!!!!

and when you first start to read the story behind the pic you may be a bit confused, but just read on...

This picture was taken on the way to my grandma's funeral in june 08

My grandmother moved in with us, when I was in third grade. Over the years she was more than just Grandma Ouida, she became a mentor, a counselor, a confidant, a comedian, and a best friend.

When there was no one to talk to she was always there for me and gave me great/humorous advice.

my grandma had actually been hospitalized for the past year and a half. infact there were many times where we thought she wouldnt make it.  On Jan 1, 2007 i got engaged.  At this point my grandma was still very sick, but promised me that she would make it to our wedding day.   Although doctors and nurses said this was impossible, i knew my grandma had the strength of a timex watch. "TAKES A LICKIN AND KEEPS ON TICKIN".  As the year went on there were many up and down, touch and go night. We all had our fair share of long nights in a hospital chair, but low and behold, dec 31, 2007 rolled around and there she was!!!

later she told me how everyone was watching and so happy to see her so she had to waive and let them know "the queen was here"  lol!!!

telling her how happy i was that she made it.  we weren't sure if the dr would let her leave. but she convinced them to let her.  she told me later that she had her wish to "see my girl get married" and that she was ready to go.  She held on for 6 more months after that.  we were able to have many talks until she finally went to hospice, and when she passed although i was sad that she was gone i was so happy that she was out of pain and in heaven where she belonged.  

so on the way to the funeral we decided that the day should be a celebration not a day of sadness.  We had all agreed to wear white, and her grandchildren were to do the eulogy.

now my brother and sisters all gave sad speeches, but i knew my grandma would have wanted everyone to laugh so i decided to share some of her wisdom. now while i dont remember the entire list or the exact order, i will hare a few. we shall call them "ouidisims" (note: my grandma is from panama central america so some dont really translate well but i will try to explain)

1. horse dont business in cow fights (stay out of others fights)

2. What you looking for? your father's head? (anytime you looked in her pot while she was cooking)

3. two pon one is murder (dont gang p on people in an argument)

4. I dont worry about the touchdowns. I worry about what he touching up... (lol when i dated a football player in college)

5. i'll cut your leg off and call you shorty (when ever she thought you were acting "grown")

6. dont make me kick you with my good leg ( she only had one as a result of her diabetes so this was always funny)

7. dont tell your right hand what your left hand do

8. you cant be wrong and strong

.... and so on

as i continued to read my list i noticed that people in the audience we smiling, laughing and nodding. after the service it seemed like everyone there had a "ouidisim" to share. it was nice to know that she had such a great impact on sooooo many people. i hope that one day i can have a fraction of that impact on others.
