sean..... i think this is it!!!!

pregnancy cartoon

So december 26th i woke up at 6:15 am to a very interesting feeling!!!
Ashley: I think my water just broke!
Sean: are you sure?
Ashley: i think so, but the dr told me to lie down and wait 30 mins if i wasnt sure. Then sand again and see if the water begins to flow again
Sean: ok good then i have 30 more mins to sleep (yes he realy said that)

..... 30 mins and 2 potty breaks later....

ashley: ok, pretty sure my water broke.
sean: ok i'll call the dr

we get up and begin to get dressed. we get a voicemail that the dr will meet us at the hospital (since my stupid phone didn't ring)

on the way to the hospital we call both of the moms to let them know that Lani is coming!!!!

we arrive at the hospital a little before 7. My parents, sisters, and cousins autumn and shay arrived shortly after. Because there is no more fluid, the nurse has to "Check" to see if my water really broke! This was by far one of the most painful experiences of my life. for those of you who have had this check you know why I was traumatized. For those of you who haven't just take my word for it. i literally didn't speak to anyone else for a good 10 mins. i did however inform the nurse that he owed me dinner and a movie!

Well after all that, she still wasn't sure if my water broke, and went forth to test me again. She then decided that the doctor would need to test me! after a while the dr showed up gave the exam. At first she said my water didn't break, but after a few minutes she said that maybe my water had broke, and had to check AGAIN!!!!.

Time she decided that the baby was pressing on my bladder, and along with some other wonderful pre-pregnancy stuff, it just seemed like my water had broken or was leaking. and that i should rest assure that my water had not broken, but she could feel lani's head!!!
(no consolation to me: the dr said had it been a week later she would have just induced)

After all that i became very upset and emotional. after a good 10-15 minutes of balling, and reassuring by the nurse that "this happens at least 3-4 times a day" i gathered my composure and we went home.

We had another dr's appointment monday. i was sure to ask dr. bankston what labor would actually feel like, so not to be fooled again. Sean also asked when we should expect the baby and she predicted thiw week or next week. So lets keep our fingers crossed. (after all tonight and tomorrow are a full moon!!!!)

37 weeks.... GET OUTTA MY BELLY!!!!

THATS WHAT I'M TELLING LANGSTON EVERYDAY!!!!!
"please get out of mommy's belly!!!! i've loved having you as a guest for the last 9 months, but you've officially overstayed your welcome (as far as the belly is concerned). "
this is the convo i've been having with my belly for the last few days!
for those of you who haven't reached this point! it's no longer fun or cute!
now maybe some of you will be lucky and have this miraculous 10 months of pregnancy.
But for me the end has been a couple of weeks from hell!!!!
luckily for me we have had a few sure signs that she is digging her way out.
(slowly but still digging)
i feel inspired to read her the "little engine that could."
maybe she might find it inspirational.
i tried having a similar talk with my OB about getting her out early,
and she basically laughed at me........ sooooooooo........... so much for that idea!!!
what else is up???
the nursery is almost done. we are just waiting for a piece that was missing for her dresser.
The rest of the bedding should be delivered this week!
the nesting has kicked in, in full force. for some reason it goes into effect around 5am and all i want to do is put things together. so far i put together the playpen, highchair, changed out the light bulbs (not sure why, but it was bugging me; cleaned the toilets at least 3 times, organized the pots and pans, allowed sean to empty out the freezer (he claims that i am a food hoarder) and mopping, cleaning the guest bath tub, and the organizing the pantry will be added to the list tomorrow.
i've been keeping up with the bump's to do list. the only thing i have left to do is get a baby monitor and finish hanging a few things on the wall. this list was such a help in getting prepared.
it helped me decide on what to pack in our hospital bags and even gave me a list to of things to include for sean (magazines, snack, etc)!
now it's just a waiting game!!!

Showered with love (30 weeks)

What an exciting weekend we had last week!!!
Not only did I turn 27, but we also had our family baby shower.
It was so amazing!!! My mom and sisters did an incredible job!
My Cousin Natasha in georgia also did alot of behind the scences help. I truly felt like we were in an episode of Platinum Babies (WE channel).

We were also very blessed to have Sean's Mom and brother in town!!! Due to a recent death in the family, we didn't think they would be able to make it. Here are a few pics!

Tiffany's with an edge

So we have started to decorate Langston's room, and the more we get done the more i love it.

We had the house deep cleaned and her room painted on Saturday. We did a custom blend color, but after it dried, it looked like a tiffany blue. We hung some of the signs and a mirror, and the mix of the black and blue made me think of breakfast at tiffany's. Then we hung up the zebra curtains and it totally gave the room a funky little twist! WE LOVE IT!

We also picked up her bed finally and once we've got it put together, we will post a few progress pictures! I only hope Lani grows to love her room as much as we do!

Today also happens to be Sean's 28th birthday (he loves the fact that he is 2 years older than me for a few weeks). We went to Dodie's (sean's favorite seafood restaurant) in allen. Just to find out that this is a different dodies. the old one closed moved, and this restaurant "Stole" the name! Despite the disappointment of it being a sports bar vs. a seafood restaurant, we had an awesome time (and the food was really good). Here are a few pics from lunch!

One Hot Mama!!!!

... And i don't mean the sexy way!!!!
I'm starting to think the Nelly song "It's getting hot in here, so take off all your clothes" should be my theme song... lol.. I'm constantly hot and sweating like a mad woman. Trust me there is nothing sexy about that! Good thing it's fall now and not the heat of the summer! Needless to say I'm enjoying the cooler temps, now if that stinking rain would just lay off!

Lately i feel like i'm eating us out of house and home! when i say hungry, i mean starving like crazy. I always hear about the appetite of a pregnant woman and it sure has kicked in!

So time for the Lani update (what you really wanted to hear)!!!

She is a complete night owl (we have her daddy to thank for that) and kicks me from about 1 am to 5 am straight!!! According to my doctor's appointment today she seems very healthy and right on target growth wise. I am starting my 2 week visits now, my next one is actually on my bday. So I'll get to hear her little heart beat for my bday :). I also received my first of 2 Rh antibody shots to keep my body from rejecting her, as well as glucose testing and more genetic screening. My left arm is probably wishing it could detach itself from me right now.

We got the call today that her crib is ready to be picked up! we had a lot of drama with her first crib, but the new one is absolutely adorable. We have been stocking up on clothes and diapers, but still need to get some of the big items.

Her shower will be November 8th, also by my birthday so we will have an awesome weekend of celebrations. We are hoping to get gift cards (not to sound ungrateful) since we really just need the expensive stuff now! I must say the gift cards from my work shower came in very handy, with the unexpected purchase of a new crib!

i cant believe we have less than 13 weeks left!

I should be posting again next week with pics from Sean's bday (oct 25th), and our last solo trip to the fair this sunday! i cant wait for Lani to go with us next year. unitl next time~

Let the countdown begin!!!!

It's crazy to imagine but we are less than 100 days til our little button arrives. It's so hard to image that in a few months out daughter will be here.

Current tasks:

~ Still trying to decorate her nursery (the baby bed has been a major stresser)
~ Buying her bedding. of course i didn't like anything in the stores so we had to go custom
~ Thank you cards ( i ordered super cute ones from storkies.com and have to fill them out)
~ Make a guest list for our baby shower
~ Clean out our garage!!!! the dreaded garage.

Other updates:

My job gave us a baby shower. it was actually a group shower since Frankford seems to have something in the water that causes people to get preggo! (i'm also a bit suspicious of the local sundays and fridays, which allows for us to have a full family day now! This will also be helpful when lani gets here

we have also officially enrolled out baby in daycare. this actually makes me a little sad, but i know she will be at a great school and learning great things (they even teach sign language to the babies)

Langston??? Where did you get that name???

Langston actually originated prior to sean and i getting married. My aunt MeMe was pregnant with a little girl, and looking for a unique name. i had seen the cutest little girl and her name was Langston, so i suggested the name. My aunt decided on the name Langston Jolee (Jolee: was a combo of my grandparents name Jonita and Leroy, who had both passed). A few weeks before she was born my aunt changed the name the Macy Jolee (which reminded me of macy grey, coincidentally the baby has grey eyes). Although a bit disappointed, i let my aunt know that if/when i had a daughter, her name would be Langston (sean was not yet aware).

2 years later i found out i was preggo and naming the baby seemed to be a simple task. or so i thought. Sean was not too excited about the name Langston. So we came to the agreement that if we had a boy sean could choose the name (with my help), and if we had a girl, I would choose the name.

Sean decided on Dylan Carter for a boy. Dylan means "son of the sea"!!! Since sean is a self proclaimed water baby, this was the perfect name for our little boy. Carter the meaning "a bringer of good"!!!

For a girl, i chose Langston meaning " a long or long island" and Nicole meaning "victory or victory of the people". I went on a website and used a program to explain her name. The website stated she would be a great Leader and athlete! If sean had any doubt on her name, i think it went out the window with that definition! The nick name Lani (pronounced lay-nee) was a combo of both name La-Langston and Ni-Nicole!

*** on a side note yes i know that langston is a boy name, much like ryan, taylor, colby, etc, and although it was not inspired by Langston Hughes, he is one of my favorite poets, and one of the first poetry books that my mother gave me!

The joys and struggles!!!

some days are truly easier than others. i never realized how difficult pregnancy could be! last night i was lucky to experience a random case of the stomach flu. now normally when you have a stomach bug the dr tells you to stay home, get rest stay on fluids! But since i'm preggo i got to spend 4 hours in the hospital hooked up to monitors, and given lots of fluids to drink (no iv yeah). Although i began to feel better, despite being tired, it was truly frightening. Not only was i bit worried that i was sent to labor and delivery and not just a normal room, but the fact that i had to sign all of these in case of emergency papers, for Lani and I (sean was at work so it was scary making some of these decisions by myself). As long as my baby was taken care of i was ok. SO FYI, my choice is to choose her! if it comes between the 2 of us! choose her!!!!

At home you are not aware of how your babies heart rate can fluctuate. but i quickly realized that certain positions caused Lani's heart rate to go down drastically. anytime the beeping or numbers changed i started to stress out! however it was comforting to hear that our little girl is strong and healthy! but the nurse did tell me that i need to be more diligent about taking my prenatal vitamins!. so around 11 pm i was able to go home. told to stay off heavy foods for a while and stick to liquids! hopefully we wont be going back until she is due!!!

Flashback throught the years!!!!

As i was thinking i realized many of you don't now much about our "history"!!!

HOW WE MET

We met our Freshman year at SFA, in August of 2000. Now according to various sources, there are many ways in which Sean and I met. So as soon as we get an official story I'll let you know. I do however remember that he stole my cheesecake. The odd thing is that neither of us were supposed to go to SFA. I went because all my friends were going there, and sean went because his cousins were there. We were both dating other people in the beginning but quickly became "bestfriends." I say bestfriends with a giggle, because it was always obvious we had feeling for each other. We officially became a couple midnight New Years Eve 2001, after months of round about, on and off dating!

THE PROPOSAL

... once upon a time... in the far off land of Pearland, Texas.... Just kidding Actually I thought Sean would propose New Years Eve, since that is our anniversary, so when midnight had come and gone, I was just a "tad bit" upset. (hehehe. marieanne may tell you diffrent!) The next morning I woke up in a "not so pleasant" mood and crying my eyes out. Being the wonderful man that he is, Sean tells me to “stop crying!!!” and to hang around the house all day for the cable man. Around 3 pm the cable man had not arrived and needless to say I’m a bit agitated. I call Sean t let him know that he needs to take care of this, because I would like to go shopping. (After all, it is New Years day). So he tells me that the cable guy is no longer coming, but he would like to go to dinner for our anniversary. After a short discussion or lecture on our anniversary date, I agree to go to dinner (Red Lobster) “at 6pm exactly”. I get dressed up, per request oof sean, only to find out that he is wearing jean. Then to also find out that he didn’t even make a reservation. So now I’m angry!!! As we arrive at the restaurants, which must be at least 45 minutes away. I go in to get a table while Sean parks the car. When he finally makes it in to the restaurant, he has the nerve to ask me to switch seats. To make things better he realizes he lost his wallet as well and has to go look for it, in the car (clearly I have no intentions of paying). So after what seems to be half an hour he returns to pay the bill. (all the while i continue to text marieanne how annoyed i was). Apparently he had become a gentle man and now would like to warm up the car for me, which I adamantly state is ridiculous (its like 50 degrees). After some time, he returns to walk me out to the car, and a black stretch limo pulls up, where upon I rudely remark, “someone’s got a limo, and must be nice.” All of a sudden a little man hops out and says, “Hi, Ashley. My name is Eddie and I will be your driver tonight.” Needless to say I’m a bit confused. 1) How does he know my name, and 2) isn’t the car still running?... After slight hesitation I climb into the car, where I find a bouquet of sunflowers and roses, and the song “It’s our Anniversary” playing. Cue the tears… Sean then informs me that we are going to take a tour of the city, but I can’t seem to get past the fact that we are going south, and the city is north (did i mention i was a pain). I ask Sean to speak with Eddie to see if he was lost, but he said everything is cool. However, I’m still scared, because all I see is trees (i've seen enough horror movies to know what that means. here come the axe). …. So after what seems to be forever (and a lot more trees), I begin to see “bay area” signs. At this point it dawns on me that we are in Galveston. After a few minutes, we pull up at Kemah Boardwalk (my favorite place in Houston). Needless to say it was the most beautiful sight ever. The ocean, the Christmas lights, the freezing wind blowing…. As we walked on the boardwalk, Sean talked about the ocean, and how water was the one thing that was key to all life, just like our love. (Yes believe it or not, He is very romantic) We continue to walk, and Sean continues to talk, but I really can’t get passed how cold it is, so he will have to tell you what else he said. Eventually we made it to the end of the dock, and Sean was still standing behind me. He talked more (that part I will keep private), and then said “Well I guess there is only one thing left to do….” He gets down on one knee (cue tears again) and says, “Will you marry me?” I elegantly replied “what the F***K?” repeatedly, and then after more crying said, “YES!!!” It was the most perfect proposal ever!
here are a few pics! (since no one else was there, we were taking all the pics ourselves)

The Wedding

WHEN & WHERE
December 31, 2007, Old Red Court House Dallas, TX 7pm

ABOUT THE BIG DAY

Our wedding was amazing night ever. I was so nervous and shaky and i always remember sean's little cousin asking me if i was sure i wanted to marry her cousin. "you know it aint to late to change your mind!!!" lol!

i remember that it seemed forever for me to walk down the isle. That everyone just left me by myself! As i walked down the isle there were so many flashes and people in the way, but once i made it next to sean, and the minister began our vowes, it all became a dream! it seemed like we were in a fish bowl! i remember looking around and just thinking "is this real?"

well it was all very real, and beautiful. there were tons candles (not real ones , since it was a historical building) and rose petals every where. the lighting was very dim. you could see the city & christmas lights in the huge bay window behind us, and it was more romantic than i ever imagine! on that day i married my best friend. and no matter what journey life takes us through, our wedding was truly a fairytale

THE FUTURE:

in just a little more than two years after that big day our daughter will be here! It's so hard to imagine that nearly 10 years after we met and became friends, that we would eventually become parents!

22 WEEKS MY @$$!!!!!!

so Thursday i had my 23 week visit. 23 weeks and 4 days to be exact. Needless to say i was extremely nervous, since this was my first visit with a new Dr. (i have to meet all 4 dr's in the practice). I must admit i was very nervous about going to another dr. I've gone to Dr. Bankston since i was a teenager. She knows that i'm a serious worry wart and all of my history.

I told sean the night before that i was nervous, so he tried to help me think of all the questions I wanted to ask.

Well the minute i walked in things were a little strange. They asked me which Ashley Harris was I? Strange, that's never happened before! But... i guess ashley and harris are both common names.

The nurse shows me to my room. While Sean and I are talking and waiting, the nurse comments that i am 22 weeks along. Clearly this was a mistake, so i inform her that i was 23 weeks and 4 days, and due Jan 10th. to my surprise the nurse replies, "according to this, you are 22 weeks and due Jan 16th, but the baby will come when ever she's ready so it doesn't make much difference." Now maybe i'm a bit sensitive but i was annoyed. she leaves the room noting that the dr will be in shortly.

So sean and i are waiting and talking again. and the dr. soon arrived. I asked her about the due date and she informed me that she would investigate. well the dr asks do we have any questions or concerns and i mention that i have a cough at night. She informs me that it's acid reflux. I explain that i have asthma and allergies and feel like it's my allergies, to which she replies again, "it's acid reflux." Never once does she listen to my chest or check my sinuses. odd in my opinion.

"any other questions or concerns?" I mention to her that sometimes my stomach tightens/ hardens and it lasts for a few minutes. They happen at night, early morning or when i walk a long time. "Well it doesn't sound like round ligament pains, but lets go with that." I explain to her that i've had round ligament pains and that this feels different. "well if it happens regularly call dr. bankston."

at that moment i felt like some stranger that she was forced to see. I even told sean that i would not feel comfortable if they were my delivery doctor and nurse. Needless to say i will be calling Dr. Bankston Monday to ask a few questions ( i wont say why, but i will let her know that i feel more comfy asking her). And yes! if you're wondering, i did try to call on Friday... lol

Any way here is my most recent pic! "24 WEEKS"!!!!

a little update

Ok so school is officially in full speed! (is it June yet??? Nuff said)
The funniest parts are all of my old students figuring out i'm preggo now!
They just keep looking like they want to ask but some are scared that maybe i ate a basketball over the summer... lol

Family. everyone is doing well and healthy. we have a dr's appt tomorrow and it's hard to imagine that we are 1/2 through our second trimester and that she will be here in 4 months.

pregnancy cartoon

So up until recently i think i've been a pretty sane preggo. but the emotions are full swing. i even cried along with one of my kids today because "six grade is soooo horrible and everyone is soooo mean." yes i was in tears with her in the hall. i remember middle school (actually 9th grade was my hell). but seeing her in tears broke my heart. normally crying kids dont phase me, but i've become even more sensitive (if that was even possible). And my students aren't the only one's getting a bucket full of emotions. The hubby is in for it too! Now granted he's trying to be a good expecting hubby. But apparently no one told him that some times i am just pissed or sad, and i really dont know why! but he is getting a crash course! that sometimes i need a little bit of extra attention and flattering, cause having everyone tell you how big you're getting can do some damage for one's self esteem. But when i get dressed in the morning, it helps to have someone tell you that you're beautiful each day!

on a side note my new guilty pleasure is GLEE!!! i'm obsessed! if you haven't seen it you gotta watch! here are a few little clips! if you dont find your self singing along you're crazy

shop til you drop!!!

ok so it's totally true!
LITTLE GIRLS ARE SOOOOOOOOOOO EXPENSIVE!
Ok maybe i cant blame it on lani sinceshe isn't here yet!
maybe her mommy is just a bit of a shopaholic!
Ok a major shopaholic!
But i just cant help it.
I walk into the store and see all these cute little outfits
and can't help but imagine a little chubby baby in them.
I have a feeling i'm going to be in trouble!

Flying Balls!!!!

ok guys get your minds out of the gutter!!! lol
but seriously, the balls were flying this morning.
it seems our yard man ran over a golf ball, which flew into our glass patio door
shattering it into a million pieces :(

well sean was on the ball and able to get some one out there immediately to fix the door
(mind you the door wasn't fixed immediately since they brought the wrong type of glass, but they were out there immediately)

so after a few hours of waiting and a wonder $300 bill we have 1 new glass door.
the only problem is that we have 2 glass doors, and it has become amazingly clear (no pun intended) that we need to clean our windows out side ... take a look for your selves!

School's Back FOREVER!!!!!

omg!!! school is back in and it already seems like the longest 2 weeks of my life!
I am steadily counting down to the next holiday!!!
lucky for me Labor Day is Monday!!!

this week has definitely been a trying week for my family as well
my brother went through surgery for cancer (lymphoma) in 3 places.
we have been so blessed to find out today that they were able to remove everything and that he is cancer free! woooooooooo hooooooooo. the remaining portion is simply an infection (i presume something that was left over from his 2 month stay in the Philippines.)
Needless to say no more international travel for us (well at least outside of the western hemisphere).

Sean's family has also had major blessings. His grandfather who recently had a stroke, and was literally on his death bed, is awake and responsive and progressing tremendously.

God has truly had us in the palm of his hands these past few weeks. all we can do is continue to pray and be thankful for his many blessings. Sean and I always talk about God's plan, we may not understand it, and things may not be when we want them, but they are truly right on time!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
things are going great with the baby!
Little Langston is wiggling and kicking all over the place.
sometimes, I feel like there is a party going on in there!
we have finally cleaned out her room :)
ok... so my mom finally cleaned out her room, but i helped as much as i could.
she also painted her bed, so i cant wait to put it together!
every night i've been working one some type of decoration for her room!
this week's project is decoupaging (sp??) the letters in her name for her wall.
they are zebra and turquoise! Diva Style already!
as soon as it looks more complete i will be posting pics
20 weeks!!!
Wow so today is a land mark day, in our baby journey!
Today is officially the 1/2 mark of our pregnancy.
It honestly seems like i've been preggo forever, but i think knowing the sex will make things go quicker.
We can actually start looking for stuff and buying "GIRLY" stuff!
(woo hoo for girls)
But honestly we are so excited.
So whats next on our little journey...
1. paint lani's bed
2. purchase her bedding (we are doing zebra & turquoise)
3. finish registering
4. look for a pediatrician
5. start prenatal classes
We have tons of little things to do, but i know it will all be worth it once little Lani is here.
We have been blessed to have amazing family and friends who have given us tons of goodies alreay. I can truly say we have been blessed!
til next time :)
Pinch me if i'm dreaming?!?!?!!?!?
Well i've had my fair share of strange baby dreams...
Dreams of an alien baby!
Steamy dreams of some mystery man (we'll call him sean :P, but i never see the face)
Nightmares galore!
A few dreams of my grandma ouida: possibly because i was sad that she would never get to meet any of our babies. i think my nieces and nephew's have been so lucky to have a great grandma
But the latest dream, and by far the strangest, happened yesterday.
I dreamed that i felt the baby move and i looked down to touch my belly and there were at least 20 little babies trying to claw their way out of my stomach.
(Creepy i know)
In fact i even remember pinching my self but i could not wake up.
Eventually i woke up, in a cold sweat and feeling like i was about to hyperventilate.
My gosh, if this is just the beginning i'm scared to see what dreams may come!
(side note: according to The Girlfriends Guide to Pregnancy, we always have crazy dreams. But when your pregnant we wake up during these dreams for our many potty breaks and interrupt the dreams. Since we wake up in the middle of dreaming we then remember it.)
5 months to go!
It's so hard to imagine that our little bundle will be here 5 months (give or take a few) from today. We find out in exactly 10 days what we are having, and i'm loosing my mind in anticipation. Our little bundle has 2 cousins due with in 1 month of ours, and so far we have one confirmed boy! 2 more surprises to go! But trust me, as soon as we find out, everyone will know!
I'm a bit sad that my parents will be in panama when we find out, but excited cause our baby can get it's 1st piece of "panamanian jewelry!
Thankful!!!
I mentioned in my last post that we had testing run on Monday. We got the call on Thursday that everything was great and the baby was on target. Needless to say we were super nervous. The 1st round of testing we found out I as RH- (meaning there is a possibility that the baby and I have different blood, and that my body could produce antibodies). I was super upset, but my doctor explained that it's pretty common, and that i could just take some extra meds later in the pregnancy to avoid any problems!
So... back to my original point... we were very blessed to find out that there were no more foreseeable challenges, and that our little miracle is simply perfect! We are so thankful and blessed.
On a side note i found out another one of my girlfriends is pregnant. She is 19 weeks!!!! so it looks like our baby will have plenty of play mates!
Guess who's coming to dinner????
We can't wait to find out what we are having.
It seems like it's been forever and we were really hoping the dr would tell us today, since we were having other tests done!
Well August 20th we finally get to find out!
I must admit we are torn evenly... One day we think boy, the next day we think girl, and we never think the same thing on the same day.
But i'm a little curious to hear what you all think we are having! so will it be a boy or a girl.... Place your bets, and i'll let you know in 3 weeks :P
Dizzy Days!!!!
The past few days have been a bit stressful for me. I've had the joy of experiencing some of the down points of pregnancy. For example... the dizziness... this really sucks. it ranges from slight, to the point of seeing spots. Since it's only happening in the mornings, my Dr thinks it could be a few things, dehydration and or my blood sugar is dropping very low over night, or that i could have the beginnings of a viral infection .
I'm really hoping we get all of this under control. The thought of being sick, scares me to death. As for now, my Dr just wants me to eat and drink a lot more. Apparently i need at least 6 meals a day. Which is difficult when you're not hungry, but I will do what ever it takes. I'm just going to keep my fingers crossed, and pray that this is something simple and doesn't become harmful to my little one.
Yummy yummy cravings for my tummy!!!
So the cravings have kicked in full throttle now....
at first it was pretty normal food items... randon but normal
like steak (mind you i don't really care for steak), watermelon, mangos, ceasar salad, sour gummy worms, or hot fudge sundays!
but now they are getting a little more odd and sometimes in strange combinations like dirty rice, hamburger pickles, and bbq beans (in my defense we were at a bbq).
or my newest want..... Popeye's mashed potatoes and taco bell nacho supremes.... At the same time. not on the same plate, but a little bit of one and and then a little bit of the other.
It's so funny... i always heard about the craving and thought about how weird it was. But let me tell you, when you want something there is no getting it out of your head
Good bye 1st trimester... hello 2nd!!!!
Well today is the 1st day of our 2nd trimester. Needless to say, we are very happy to be out of our 1st trimester. We have a dr's appointment tomorrow so i'm hoping we will get to have another sonogram or at least do the doppler. You would think since the 1st trimester is the "danger zone" that you would go to the dr a little more than every 4 weeks.
SO.... here are a few updates....
I am constantly tired, and sleep most of the day! Thank God for Summer!!!
i apparently dont like cucumbers or peanut butter any more (2 of my favorite foods)
I'm starting to crave things, salt, sour gummy worms, and vanilla ice cream with fudge!!!! not all together though lol!!!
I am constantly hot and always need the fan on! (gotta love texas heat)
I've always been very emotional, but since i've been pregnant I really dont cry anymore. Well let me rephrase that, i dont cry about things that normally bring on the water works.
exp: this was my last year coaching and last spring show: one of my officers wrote me a beautiful letter and started balling about how much she was gonna miss me. Now normally I would be a total wreck, but no tears. However, Sean asked me a few days ago what did i do that day besides sleep and i started balling! Go figure!
Another new addition.... is something i like to call "evening sickness"
Most people get sick in the mornings and during their first trimester. But starting this week, i get sick at night. It really sucks!!! I guess i should have knocked on a little more wood...lol
well i guess that's it. i will keep you posted!
weddingpolloza!!!!!
This weekend was nuts!!!! Alot of fun, but nuts to say the least.
We had an awesome time in elpaso and truly enjoyed seeing all the Harris side of the family.
The first wedding we attended was for Sean's sister Joi and her new hubby Calvin.
We had an awesome time. Here are a few pics from her wedding (well the reception, since we were both in the actual wedding)
The second wedding was Sean's cousin Milton and his new wife Andrea.
They had a beautiful wedding plus the cutest little boy ever (Noah).
The moment i saw him i fell in love with that little smile.
Sean was so excited to see some of his old high school friends.
(some of them he hadn't seen since high school)
