1. How many pets do you have?
we have 3 dogs! 1st is bailey. he is the ooooooooldest cocker spaniel ever!!!! 2nd is bella. she is a fiesty little malti-chin. Last but not least... mr. bachellor... aka batch! a goofy and scary doberman

2. If you could switch places with anyone in the world for one day, who would it be?  Diddy!!! lol!  seriously that dude runs thing!!! "DIDDY RUNS THE CITY"

3. What is your favorite money saving tip? pay all your bills first then try to put at least $200 in savings each month

4. What do you want your kids to be when they grow up? anything she wants to be! some say dr or lawyer but not a teacher, but one of my favorite quote is "with out teachers there would be no lawyers and doctors."

So we all know that i've been a little sad about returning to work, and with open house on Thursday night, I was super sad... That is until i walked into Lanis daycare and she saw me.  She was sitting on her teachers lap, and got a huge smile.  she climbed down and got onto all fours.  After a few rocks she crawled right over to me... (Cue tears!!!!!) My baby crawled for the 1st time, and i was there to see it! God knew I needed that Ray of Sunshine in such a difficult week!!!  Now maybe if we are lucky she will let me record it!

our other news... it seems my child may be a little bit of a sticky fingers!!!
When i went to pick her up from school Wednesday, the teacher mentioned to me that we might want to send Lani finger foods.  Mind you, I haven't been giving her any finger foods, except for mum mums because she doesnt have any teeth....

Well apparently that wasnt enough, because VS appeared and took the other baby's finger foods.... (SO EMBARRASSED!) Her sweet teacher mentioned we may want to start sending Lani some snacks of her own.  That night i chopped up bananas and avocados in tiny chunks and they were a hit.

She like them so much that the teacher said she ate all of them the next day. An entire banana, 1/2 an avocado and her usual jar of baby food, cereal, and a few bottles in between.  Dont let the size fool you, GIRL CAN EAT!!!

Final Day of Summer :(

Today is my last day of summer vacation and I'm feeling a little heart broken.  Some things i will miss more than others, but for the most part I'm just going to miss everything.

 Today has been super emotional for me, including a few tears.  I think maybe if Lani was 100% well I would feel a little more relaxed, but the fact that she has this stinky rash from her antibiotics, and is still super cranky makes me sad. I guess its just a part of being a mom, even though i know shes still in good hands, i just want to be with her....

 

I know i should be thankful that i got to spend the last 2 months with her,  but it truly went by way to fast. She is growing so big, and the next vacation i have, we will be preparing for her first thanksgiving, Christmas, and birthday....  

Dear Lani~ 

You are the best thing I've ever done, and my favorite person in the world.  You have brought so much joy to my life, and my heart is breaking thinking that i wont get to see your sweet smile all day.  thank you for being such a wild, crazy, loving, beautiful part of my life. You make me strive to be a better woman, mother and wife.  I love you babydoll.

Not so Lucky Number 7 ....... (Month Update)

Wednesday Lani officially turned 30 weeks and a pretty crummy...

It began with mommy having to go in to work for a while so my cousin was going to watch Lani.  I hand Lani to her and go to finish getting dress, when what do i hear... my baby SCREAMING!!!!  She has fallen off the couch... Her first fall off of anything might I add... Now in my cousin's defense she was trying to get Lani to take a nap by laying with her on the couch... Needless to say this was not very comforting to mommy...

FAST FWD TO FOUR PM....

Lani  has a low fever and is rubbing her gums... ok its a teething fever.  i give her a little Tylenol and she seems fine for a while but then starts SCREAMING!!!  I ask when was her last nap? Only to find out she hasn't had a nap today.... Ahhhhhh ..... Sound the Crazy Mommy Alarm... I'm officially pissed.... My cousin says my bro in law woke her, he says she told him to move her, and some how all this adds up to my baby not having a nap ALL DAY!!!. I give her a lavender bath and get her to take a nap for about an hour, when my mom calls to tell me my cousins are in town from D.C. I take Lani over for her to meet them and things seem to be going fine, until suddenly she becomes very irritable. I pick her up, and she is on fire. I'm looking everywhere in the baby bag for her thermometer, but cant find it and no one has one.  I give her some Tylenol and ice water, and wait for her to calm down some before driving home.  I get to the house and check her temp to find out its a 103 degrees.   Panic Officially Begins! We check 2 more times with the temporal scanner and once with an anal temp all reading between 102-103... we call the Dr and he tells us to go straight to the emergency room.  After about an hour of waiting we find out she has a double ear infection and some viral infection.  her only symptom that we could see or tell was a few boogies in the nose : (

its around 11:00 at this point and we still have to find the 24 hour pharmacy... what a start to month 7!!!

~ Can sit unassisted.
~ Pulls up and tries to stand but falls (she thinks its hilarious)
~ Eating more variety of food
~ Not a fan of the sippy cup but like to drink from mommy and daddy's glass
~ First ear infection
~ First ER visit
~ First plane trip

~ Loves to eat ice cream and popsicles (thanks to Nini)
~ Weighs 13 lbs

1. Are you a neat sleeper or a messy sleeper?
well im a neat sleeper by default.  with the hubby on one side, and VS, who has not made it through an entire night in her bed, on the other, i have no choice.  Sometimes i feel like a hot dog stuck in a bun.

 active.  i use to exercise a ton, but something happened after i graduated from college and all that went down the drain.....

3. What is something that you wish you had been warned about? how uncomfortable pregnancy is... my feet were sooooo freakin swollen

4. What was the best thing you ever found at a garage sale/flea market? nothing!!!

5. If you could have any meal brought to you right now, what would it be? Since its breakfast time... chick-fila chicken biscuit with egg and cheese

Top 2 Simple Pleasures

 

ok so this one was hard because every pleasure i thought of wasnt really a simple one.

 

1. Nap Time

Since i became a mom, i have a whole new respect for nap time.  its  remarkable the amount of things you can get done during the two hr nap...i.e. this blog!

 Honestly!!! this has been super therapeutic for me! and it doesn't cost me a cent
