Lets Play Catch-up!!!!!!!

My last posts documented our Christmas Eve celebrations and nerves about Lani's tubes, but i never got around to posting about christmas day or Lani's awesome first birthday!!!

Christmas Day we woke up around 8 am and the 3 of us opened presents. 

As you can see she definitely enjoyed opening all the presents !!!

It was so special for us to get to share this special moment together.  After that we went to my parents house and spent the day hanging out with family and eating a ton of great food. 

Needless to say after all that eating, we called it a very early evening.

A year ago... Happy Birthday Lani

A year ago today i wrote a post about a little girl who changed my life forever, and still today I feel just as in love as i did then.  The last 24 hours has been a bit bitter sweet.  It began with singing happy bday to Lani at 1 am and watching her dance and smile and laugh.  It was a great first birthday for my sweet baby.... but all night i've been a nervous crying wreck.  Thinking about this morning and her surgery (She's having tubes put in).... so as we get ready to the hospital, and she is still sleep, i'm trying to get all my tears out now.  I love this little doll baby so much and thank God everyday for putting her little feisty but in my life.

Langston's First Christmas Eve

We actually began our Christmas celebration in El Paso.  We arrived the Monday before Christmas and immediately went to town decorating the tree and bringing the north pole to the Harris/Davis/Woodard clan arrived, and the feasting began...
 
After hanging out and having some down time to catch up on our sleep, we headed out to Cattlemans steak house.  You may remember the excitement that surrounded our last trip to Cattlemans.  

  Well this time surely matched up.  not only did we get to hang out with all the family, we also found out some exciting news for the family....  

And no its not me... Cant tell you who just yet, but it will be coming soon!!!
 Needless to say we are very excited though for this family member and will be posting more as soon as i'm allowed to....

After Cattlemans we partied it up in El Paso, and Lani was even fortunate enough to meet her future father in law.... Daddy didnt think that was too funny, but the us moms are setting some thing into action... maybe some skype dates...lol


So after a very peaceful/late flight we arrived back at home just in time for Christmas.  Literally we got back at like 11:30.  The next morning we woke around 8:30 and opened presents with Lani...

11 months and almost done!!!

 

It's so hard to believe that my doll baby is  months today.

Updates:

~ She is walking

~ She calls me Aggy or Ash

~ She is completely obsessed with telephones.Everything is a phone and she puts it to her ear and says "Yes?" as if someone is asking her a question... too funny

~ She has teeth
~ Insists on feeding herself
~Loves playing "Where's Lani?"... for hours...
~ Dances whenever you say "go lani go"
~sings along to the radio or if someone sings to her
~rocks her head to music
~gets super excited when backyardigans is on tv

~ She still loves her fruit and hot dogs, but also likes chicken, french fries, noodles, and any type of beans

~She met Santa and was terrified 

~ She uses her ducky bath now

~ Wearing clothes

~ All of her play date friends have turned one

~ Celebrated her first thanksgiving and her 1st Christmas tree (she claps and says yeah whenever i turn on the lights) * she ate turkey, sweet potatoes, squash, mash potatoes
~survived her 1st black friday shopping
~Helped mommy and Nini decorate the grandparents Christmas tree (although she refused to touch the actually tree, and jumped whenever she felt it)   

~ Loves cake (thanks to all the bday parties) especially Red Velvet!

We are currently planning her  1st bday party, so pics will be coming soon.

Flashback a year ago.... "get out of my belly"

So today i sat and read through most of my preggo posts. 
it was so funny to look back and see the roller coaster of emotions and excitement and miserability (if thats a word) that pregnancy was.

its hard to believe that it was a year ago that i was complaining how "OVER" pregnancy i was....

And now my "sweet" baby is almost 1 and walking and talking (ok mostly babbling with some words sprinkled in)...

What a diffrence a year makes. I can honestly say that i feel so blessed to have such a precious gift from God...
And despite how miserable i was in the end, i wouldnt take a single moment of it back.
You are the best thing that has ever happened to me, and i cant wait to see what all you 2nd year has in store.
 Mommy loves you baby doll!

Yeah!!! No more waiting for the super long email to load or the pic cd to come in the mail.
